Double rotor in the new Case IH AF11 combine

The American machinery manufacturer Case IH presents its new AF11 combine; a flagship with 775 horsepower and a double rotor. The grain tank has a capacity of 20,000 liters.

Case IH introduces the new flagship model in its combine lineup: the Case IH AF11 combine. The Case IH Axial Flow 11 (abbreviated as AF11) is equipped with a double threshing rotor. This technology has been seen in some New Holland CR combines for a while, but it is unique to Case IH. Until recently, the manufacturer adhered to the Axial Flow concept with a single rotor. The introduction of the Axial Flow 11 combine marks a change in that approach. Case IH refers to its double rotor concept as AFXL2.

Grain tank nearly 40% larger

While many technical details are not yet known, it appears to share many features with the New Holland CR11.90. The machine has a power of 775 horsepower from an FPT Cursor 16 six-cylinder engine. The grain tank has a capacity of 20,000 liters and an unloading capacity of 210 liters per minute. This allows the combine to unload the grain tank in 100 seconds. The capacity is almost 40% higher than the previous flagship model, the Axial Flow 9250.

CVT drive on the rotors

A Power Plus CVT drive powers the rotors. The speed of the rotors can be adjusted for different crops, and they can also reverse. HX+ beating elements are placed on the rotors, along with a new stepped construction of the rotor housing. All of this is designed to ensure a more effective separation process.

Not yet available in Europe

Whether the two rotors have the same dimensions as the New Holland (61 centimeters in diameter and 3.5 meters long) is not yet clear. It is also unknown where the Axial Flow 11 will be built. Its yellow counterpart is currently manufactured in Zedelgem, where New Holland invested € 150 million.

Whether the Case IH AF11 will also be built in Belgium is not yet clear. The same applies to the price and delivery date, as they are also unknown. Case IH Benelux states that this is an American launch and that the European presentation will follow.
