Fendt e107 Vario ready for sale

At a press event in Bygdøy, Norway, German machinery manufacturer Fendt unveiled the official production model of its fully electric standard tractor: the Fendt e107 Vario.

The new electric Fendt e107 Vario is based on the Fendt 200 Vario series. Technically, the two series are largely the same. However, under the hood of the Fendt e107, there’s no longer a diesel engine, but a 100 kWh battery. Additionally, an electric motor provides a continuous power output of 55 kW (73 hp), with temporary peaks of up to 66 kW (90 hp).

Fendt e107 Vario mainly for vegetable growers

The tractor was first introduced at Agritechnica 2023. Underneath, the tractor is largely identical to the previously presented e107V Vario narrow-gauge tractor. The Fendt e107 Vario, presented to the international press in Norway, is the so-called S (Standard) version. The outer width measures 2.16 meters, and the e-tractor has a height of 2.64 meters.

Fendt is primarily targeting municipalities and the vegetable farming sector with this model. However, the tractor manufacturer also sees potential in livestock farms and agricultural businesses with their own energy production.

The tractor drives and looks almost identical to its diesel counterpart, the Fendt 207 Vario. Fendt intentionally chose the same frame, making it easy to integrate into production at the Fendt factory in Marktoberdorf, Germany. Additionally, users of a diesel Fendt 207 Vario don’t need to make any modifications to the machinery they already use.

The Netherlands as a pilot country

Fendt will first deliver the tractors to the Netherlands, Germany, and Norway. By the end of 2025, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and Spain will follow. The starting price of the Fendt e107 Vario will be 1.7 to 1.8 times higher than a comparable Fendt 200 Vario model. The manufacturer reports that the production line is ready for 14 electric tractors per day, with the ability to scale up to 32 e-tractors per day.
