Machine learning insights tool to feature with expanded crop compatibility

Machine learning driven crop insights tool HarvestEye will be exhibiting on the global agronomy stage at Fruit Logistica. Fitting to harvesting or grading equipment, HarvestEye is a method to deliver visibility – via an online portal and daily reports – on the size, shape and mapping variability of crops.

In addition to the machine learning model development, HarvestEye is set to launch its new handheld version of HarvestEye. This uses the power and data insight of the system to allow customers to count and size crop pre-harvest during test digs. Trial and development over the past year has led to the system now being compatible with different varieties of onions, in addition to potatoes.

Crop measurement

“HarvestEye 2.0 delivers faster crop measurement and more accurate data collection than its predecessor. We’ve also listened to our customers, by launching the all new HarvestEye Handheld, enabling customers to save time during their pre-harvest yield digs and further increasing utilisation of the technology”, said Harry Tinson, general manager at HarvestEye.

Vidyanath (Vee) Gururajan, managing director of HarvestEye, said: “These tools no longer limit users to act on field sampling, but offer full crop visibility to improve decision making and supply chain confidence through increased visibility and reduced wastage.”
